Taxus nucifera Kaempf.?

Taxon: Taxus nucifera
Authority: Wall.
IPNI: 263846-1
WFO ID: wfo-0000409057  Loading ...
Notes: Wallich used Kaempf's pre-Linnean name (Amoen. exotic. p. 814 t. 815) in Tent. Fl. Napal. 2: 57, t. 44 (1826) and so validly publishes it, but it is illegitimate as it is a later homonym of Linnaeus's T. nucifera (Sp. Pl. 2: 1040, 1753). This is later validly published as (a nomen novum) Taxus wallichiana Zucc. (Abh. Math.-Phys. Cl. Königl. Bayer. Akad. Wiss. 3: 803, t. 5. 1843).
