It is probably that Wallich intended to write 'Vitis cordata' as this Entry is included within a series of 'Vitis' entries (5987-6040), and Wallich notes that this was '(sub Cisso)' - analagous to 5990 and 5998. IPNI also considers this to be a correctable typographic error and so the valid publication of the new combination Vitis cordata (Roxb.) Wall., based on Cissus cordata Roxb, Fl. Ind. (Roxburgh), 1: 425 (1820). However, this is an illegitimate later homonym of Vitis cordata Dum.Cours., Bot. Cult., ed. 2 4: 619 (1811).
